FASTI - History

The main milestones in the history of FASTI reflect the evolution of automatic chain making machines.

1946

At the end of the Second World War, a period in which the entire world was turning its attention to a peaceful use of technology, a small workshop. Fasti with great ambitions was set up at Montalto Dora, close to Ivrea. A few years later, FASTI was measuring up to German competitors in the field of machines for chains, a new type of product in Italy.

1953

FASTI designed the GE machine, which can only be described as a technical revolution in the production of the "Curb" chain and, shortly there after, the EV machine for the "Venetian" chain which, until then, had always been produced by hand.

1960

In the 1960’s, when the main goal was "problem-free production", FASTI was the first in the world to incorporate interchangeable tooling completely in its machines, with a considerable technological effort.

1970

In the 1970’s, in complete contrast to current trends in a period of recession in Italy, FASTI dedicated its attention to industrial reorganisation and reinforcement in its position on international markets.

1980

The main milestone in the 1980’s was the launching of the FM line that optimised both efficiency and productivity.

1982

The RCM machine was constructed for rope chain which had till them been assembled only by hand.

1986

The extreme attention we devote to consumer satisfaction created the need for a greater flexibility in production. This leads to the birth of the universal GU. Introducing a new concept of versatility.

1990

One of the major innovations in the 1990’s was the MPL model; the main features of this small masterpiece for production of ball chains were its high speed and low noise level.

1994

The solution to the problem of automatic welding of chains with a laser technology system proved to be particularly suited for "difficult" metals such as platinum and 24 Kt gold and was adopted on various machine models.

1996

The new production plant, constructed to cater to growing production requirements and designed towards quality as priority and safty in the working environment, was inaugurated.

The MPL and PLL models are attested to be machines ideal for an excellent quality and high reliability production of ball chains.  SB05 and SB12M are models launched for the production of single balls.

To enrich the existing successful FM line, the FMFVL machine for producing venetian chains soldered by laser has been introduced.  This machine is equipped with a patented chaining system that guarantees a finished product with elevated robustness and quality.

The strong will to track down the customer’s exigency closely urges the company to produce equipment for resolving problems encountered during the chain finishing process.  As a result, various new machines are launched.  Machine CM for compacting chains, machine SML for limbering ball chains and machine BML for matching chains.

In the year 2003, the company reaches a high prestige objective, having its own QUALITY SYSTEM certified by one of the most prestigious institution from the quality assurance sector, “TÜV”.  An ulterior guarantee towards product reliability for its customers.

The VAL (laser figaro venetian and cable chain making machine) is the result of a continuous research on improving the rapport between man-machine that urges the company to introduce more developed hardware and software components. The recent introduction of an encoder mounted on the cam shaft renders adjustment operations easy and increases productivity and reliability of the machine further.

Upon signing a commercial and industrial agreement with Laservall SpA (a leading company in the laser technology sector), Fasti became a producer for soldering lasers and the sole distributor for marking systems in the goldsmith sector, integrating laser sources in class I safety box and developing dedicated systems for specific production processes upon request.

An important step to simplify the production of rope chain. Fasti introduces the new laser rope chain model: the only machine so far produced that transforms wire directly into rope chain.

A new division was implemented to design and produce soldering lasers.
Applying its experience acquired over the years as a laser technology user, Fasti today develops and produces a complete line of reliable and performing lasers for  automatic chain soldering.
